Condition Survey at Reinforced Concrete Structures
How does it look below the surface of your concrete structure? Does the "rust stain" indicate developing corrosion and concrete damage or not? Is the reinforcement placed in the way it is supposed to be? What to do for an optimized, durable repair of the structure?

You will receive our support to answer those and other questions exactly, detailed and basing on a sound diagnosis of the structure. We show you where and how corrosion problems occur in the structure, which areas have to be repaired and in which term of time. On the other hand our condition survey indicates, in which areas no action is required and why. This may vary from the visual impression, but it leads to a correct treatment, suited for the structure.
This approach corresponds with the guideline "Object related damage analysis" of the German Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt).

Electrochemical Chloride Extraction and Realkalization of reinforced concrete structures
Corrosion of reinforced concrete structures – caused either by chlorides (mostly from de-icing salts) or by carbonation – can we remove for you within few weeks non-destructively, without significant interruption of traffic, environmental friendly, without waste, dust or noise. Chlorine gas development can be prevented almost entirely, and the chloride will get bound on an ion exchanger who's chloride content can be determined after the treatment. You will get a very detailed planning, procedure surveillance an success control which comprises the guidelines of the new European standards CEN EN 12696 and CEN TS 14038. Surface areas down to a size of 60 x 60 cm can be treated by the patented CombinationElectrode in an optimal way.

Measurement Equipment
You can use our high-grade measurement and testing equipment and its qualified operators for electrochemical material testing or for doing comparable measurements, such as tests on corrosion inductivity of concrete admixtures according to DIBt report 5/93, or individual measurements where you can consult us about. The intensive cooperation with the Materials Testing Establishment (Materialprüfungsanstalt -MPA- Dresden) makes a fast realisazion even of extensive tests and experiments possible.

Autolab PGSTAT 100 with EIS system

computer controlled electrochemical measurement system suited for all DC- and AC-methods for the electrochemical characterisazion of objects by 2-, 3- and 4-electrodes technique

maximum cell voltage: 100 V, maximum current: 250 mA, maximum electrode potential: 10 V
The cell voltage can be recorded as a second signal in galvanic separation.

EIS measurements can be made in a frequency range from 1 MHz down to 10 µHz within galvanostatic or potentiostatic operation both as a scan of frequency or of time. For dynamic experiments or on sensitive objects fast solutions can be found by use of a 5times to 15times mulit-sine signal.

pH-Meter Radiometer PHM 220

highly sensitive pH- and potential measurement tool with RS 232 interface for an online data acquisition
pH-Einstabmeßketten for pH-ranges 1 - 13,5, chloride sensitive elektrodes in the range 1,8 - 35.000 ppm

Photometer Dr. Lange LASA 30

universal photometer for measuring all standarized photometrically detectable ions
elements in stock: Cl-, more elements on request

Hilti Ferrocsan 10

rebar measurement and detection appliance for the reliable and coincidential detection of rebar situation, concrete cover and rebar diameter. Data analysis software for data evaluation, gaphical and numerical data output.
maximum scanning depth: 10 cm, single scanning aerea: 60 x 60 cm, quick scan (detection of situation and depth): 15 x 5.000 cm

The follow-up analysis of Ferroscan data by CITec Survey delivers a complete, scaled image of reinforcement.

Condition Survey under Water
Even underwater we can help you: with skill and equipment concrete structures can be surveyed, documented and evaluated by a civil engineer. With an underwater-system for potential mapping submerged structural parts can be tested non-destructively for corrosion activity.

Electrochemical desalination of natural stone, masonry and plaster
Salt may cause considerable damage in natural stone, masonry and plaster. We can eliminate these issues by using our external, temporarily attached electrode system – without mechanical, visual or chemical changes to the material surface. The desalination can be done as a single-side or as a two-side ("trough") application. An initial survey on the salt characteristics in recommended; when doing it on memorials also a small scale reference application. Our special desalination layout has been tested on Elbe sandstone.
